OFF THE BEATEN PATH

Solo Exhibition Of Photography By LORI RYERSON

APRIL 2019

EXHIBITION DATES
Thursday April 4 to Saturday April 27, 2019

My photography is usually the result of serendipity. I look for an alignment of things that convey a story, for the narrative in abandoned urban landscapes. I try to capture what silence looks like. These are the stories I tell through my lens.

BIO

Most of my life and work experiences revolved around communications; initially through music and the performing arts, later morphing into the written word during my corporate years. I spent 16 years studying flying trapeze with a circus school in Toronto. After 30+ gap years I returned to school, and in 2013 I graduated from Humber College with an honours certificate in photography.

Late in 2016, after 14 years of association management and event planning, I became a full-time artist. In 2018, I was honoured to be accepted in the Ontario Society of Artists, Canada’s longest continuing art society, founded in 1872.
