Vikka is a painter born in France in 1982. He has always been a fan of Street Scene Art and Pop Art. From his youth, his interest in drawing was revealed during moments of relaxation. He easily reproduced characters of cartoons he watched, and his wild imagination inspired him to create many others.
Self-taught, he is fond of colour and surreal elements, which can be found in his work.
His canvas "The Beginning" is the starting point of everything -and includes all the basic elements of all of his artworks:
• The bubbles represent round shapes, soothing and liberating, evoking the lightness of childhood.
• The colours of the rainbow, imagined with an additional colour (pink).
• His characters, the bomb and the slug, both appeared in a BOOM! A click allowing him the total completion of his artistic work.
Vikka defines his characters in paintings, sculptures and photographs. His works are a mishmash of news topics, ingredients from his imagination, and tributes to the figures and great artists who inspired him.
According to Vikka, 'Art has no limit. It is synonymous with freedom, a way of expressing oneself and revealing the child who is in us'. For him the mixture of materials is the key to create the harmony in his works.
His first exhibitions are a tribute to his grandfathers Witold and Max, themselves talented painters -the latter claiming that artistic descent was assured.
His artist name, Vikka, is a contraction of the first names of his sons, as a tribute to them. They are fundamental in the development of his works -a part of childhood that he wishes to transmit to a wide audience.
So Vikka is born.
